OT Security – Operational Technologies

OT Security – Operational Technologies also referred to as Industrial Control Systems – ICS, are used to operate industrial processes and allow the control and management of power plants, water infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, building management systems and large ships.

Overview

Industrial Control Systems – ICS (also referred to as OT- Operational Technologies), are used to operate industrial processes and allow the control and management of power plants, water infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, building management systems and large ships.

ICS networks are considered critical infrastructure, as damaging them can potentially result in real-world catastrophic consequences, such as physical damage, blackouts, disruptions to an entire city’s water supply and infrastructure and substantive threat to human lives.

Our offered ICS Security solution is a Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) providing a new approach to protect ICS environments, without the need to install appliances. The solution can be pre-built and easily installed to ICS Management systems (SCADA / HMI) systems of customers.

Features and benefits

  • Automatic discovery of all components in the ICS network, including Clients, PLCs, RTUs and routers
  • Detects and alerts on unexpected changes in network behavior such as abnormal PLC communication, new appliances, changes in firmware etc. All this can be a result of exploitation, unauthorized access, and malware and or attempts to manipulate the network.
  • Detection of violations of engineering limits due to unauthorized access
  • Compatibility and pre-integration with major SCADA solutions and SIEM tools
  • Compatible with all major standards: NIST 800-82, NIST 800-53, NERC CIP, ISA-99

What Synax offers

  • Providing help-center and training services to customers
  • Training on security challenges in Industrial Control (ICS) networks
  • Specialized services such as risk assessments and penetration tests on ICS networks
